But with this guide you can have a professional blog set up in about 15 minutes.This guide is focused on creating a self hosted WordPress site using BlueHost. You can easily set up a Wordpress.com site but you won’t have the flexibility of plugins that are available by self hosting.

STEP 1: PURCHASE HOSTING PLAN FROM BLUEHOST

Bluehost is my host of choice because it is reliable, reasonably priced and easy to use.Go to the bluehost and click get started. Select your plan. I use the plus plan because I have more than one website and I don’t want limits on storage.bluehostplans

STEP 2: CHOOSE YOUR DOMAIN NAME

You get one free domain with your hosting package or you can use one you already own.bluehostdomainMake sure you domain name is not too long, is easy to remember, and it coordinate with your brand.

STEP 3: INSTALL WORDPRESS

Once you get your login information, from the hosting cPanel click on website.Then click to install WordPress. Once the installation is complete you will receive login information for your WordPress site.wordpressinstall1 wordpress install

STEP 4: CHOOSE A THEME

Your site will come with the TWENTY SIXTEEN theme automatically installed. You can also browse free themes on the WordPress themes directory. Switching themes only takes a click so I suggest starting with a free theme first while you get used to using WordPress so you can determine what you really need before investing in something more expensive.theme-install.php

STEP 5: INSTALL PLUGINS

Plugins are like little apps you can use to make your blog better. You can find millions of free plugins on the WordPress Plugin Directory.
